DAF HVO

Hydro-treated Vegetable Oil

HVO - 90% reduction in CO₂ emissions without any vehicle modifications

DAF’s modern diesel engines in the LF, CF and XF series are already suitable for HVO (Hydro-treated Vegetable Oil), a latest generation of biodiesel that is made from vegetable oils and waste fats.

90% reduction in CO2 emissions

Our current generation of DAF trucks can already run on HVO without technical adjustments or reduction in vehicle performance. From 'well to wheel', HVO can lead to a 90% reduction in CO2 emissions.

An environmentally friendly diesel alternative

Unlike previous generations of biodiesels, the production of HVO does not affect food production. This was an important reason why DAF was reluctant in the past to promote the use of biodiesel. Hydro-treated Vegetable Oil (HVO) is made by hydrogenating plant-based oils and waste. Because this process uses hydrogen instead of methanol, it makes HVO a more environmentally friendly diesel alternative. Ask your fuel supplier for more details.
