What difference does the right tyre pressure make?
One track, two karts and different tyre pressures. What is the effect of low tyre pressure? DAF conducted an experiment. Watch the video and be surprised!
Avoid a flat tyre
Tyres form the contact between the vehicle and the road surface. They must therefore be in top condition. This includes having the correct tyre pressure.
If the pressure is too low, tyres will deform due to the weight they need to bear. Deformation results in additional rolling resistance, which costs fuel. In addition, low tyre pressures increase wear. In fact, soft tyres can become hot due to continuous deformation. If the temperature rises, the tread may come loose and cause a tyre to blow.
Important checks in addition to the tyre pressure
Many transport operators have been forced to stand still. Now that the economy is getting moving again, we can hit the road. Before travelling, a tyre pressure check is recommended. In addition, we recommend that you check the oil level and coolant and also check the brakes and steering. Finally, don't forget to look into the engine compartment, as birds and rodents like to live in this warm and sheltered space (we aren't making this up).
