Job description
The Managed Dealer Inventory (MDI) team plays a crucial role in optimizing parts availability and inventory levels throughout the DAF dealer network. By combining data-driven insights with strong dealer relationships, MDI helps dealers improve stock availability, increase customer service levels and achieve better inventory performance.
As an MDI Analyst, you will manage inventory optimization and parts availability for more than 60 DAF dealer locations across Europe. You will work directly with dealers, analyze inventory performance, influence strategic decisions and represent the MDI program both internally and externally.
This role offers a unique combination of analytics, stakeholder management, international exposure and business development, making it an excellent opportunity for (young) professionals looking to grow into commercial, operational or international leadership roles.
Your Challenge
As an MDI Analyst, you are the trusted advisor to dealer parts managers and management teams. Through data analysis and close collaboration, you help dealers maintain the right inventory levels while maximizing customer service and parts availability.
Your responsibilities include:
- Managing inventory optimization and parts availability for a portfolio of DAF dealers across Europe, with a primary focus on Spain and Italy.
- Maintaining direct contact with dealer parts managers and acting as a trusted business partner.
- Analyzing dealer inventory performance, service levels and stock availability to identify improvement opportunities.
- Providing data-driven inventory recommendations and convincing dealers to implement them, even when additional inventory investments are required.
- Participating in dealer meetings and presenting MDI topics, performance updates, training sessions and best practices.
- Delivering presentations to both operational stakeholders and senior management teams at dealer organizations.
- Collaborating closely with DAF Sales, local account managers and multiple departments within PACCAR Parts to achieve shared goals.
- Taking ownership of improvement projects focused on inventory optimization, order suggestion quality and departmental efficiency, for example creating a customer satisfaction survey, developing or improving internal and external reports, and automating key internal processes.
- Regularly visit dealers (approximately 10% of your time). During these visits, you provide training to parts managers, present proposals to senior management, and provide MDI performance feedback.
What Makes This Role Unique?
This is much more than an analytical inventory management position.
You will be a key contributor, operating at the intersection of Supply Chain, Sales, Analytics and Dealers. You will work with stakeholders across many countries, cultures and departments while building a valuable international network.
If you enjoy combining data analysis with relationship management and influencing business decisions, this role offers an excellent platform for long-term career growth.
Your profile
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Data Science or similar;
- Professional experience as a Demand Planner, Data Analyst, Inventory Planner, Supply Chain Analyst or similar is a plus;
- Fluent in Spanish and/or Italian, English proficiency required;
- Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in MS Excel;
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, or Tableau is a plus;
- Accurate and a keen eye for details;
- Strong communication and presentation skills in an international environment;
- Ability to convince the dealers to improve inventory management and participate in MDI initiatives.
