The Direct Vision Standard (DVS) scheme requires all heavy goods vehicles over 12t to have a valid HGV Safety Permit to enter or operate in Greater London. The scheme was created by Transport for London (TFL) with the aim of improving safety for all road users, including pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists.

To support operators’ applications for a Direct Vision Standard (DVS) safety permit, DAF provides TFL with the ratings of all DAF trucks first registered in the UK. However, if your DAF truck is not available on the TFL database you can create a Direct Vision Star Rating Certificate using this certificate generator.
