DAF Trucks saw strong performance around the world in 2017. DAF’s European (EU+2) market share in the heavy segment (16 tons+) stood at 15.3%, and in the light segment it increased to 10.5%. In addition, a record number of over 9,000 DAF vehicles were registered outside Europe, while PACCAR engines sales to leading coach and bus manufacturers also reached a new record.
DAF Trucks presents the limited 90th Anniversary Edition of the New XF. This truck commemorates the fact that 90 years ago Hub van Doorne laid the foundation of DAF: now one of Europe’s most successful truck manufacturers. The anniversary edition features a premium option package, exclusive striping and subtle exterior design elements. To stress the exclusivity of this special truck it comes with the class leading Super Space Cab and PACCAR’s most powerful 530 HP/390 kW MX-13 engine.

The PACCAR Board of Directors elected Harrie Schippers as president and chief financial officer (CFO) effective January 1, 2018. Mr. Schippers has worked at PACCAR for 31 years and is currently executive vice president and chief financial officer at PACCAR’s corporate offices in Bellevue, Washington. Schippers was president of DAF Trucks in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, from 2010 to 2016. He earned a degree from Tilburg University (M.S. Economics).
Leading Spanish transport company, Primafrio, has taken delivery of 280 DAF New XF trucks into its Murcia-based chilled, frozen and high-value goods operation.
Leading UK drinks wholesaler, HB Clark Ltd., has begun a fleet modernisation programme with the introduction of eight DAF New LF 16-tonne rigid curtain-siders. The first six have already been bodied and delivered, and will be joined early in 2018 by two further New LF models.The rigid curtain-side trucks are fitted with a variety of liveries reflecting products that include well-known brands such as Coors, Carling, Carlsberg Export, Corona, Whitley Neill and its own ‘Infamous Soft Drinks’ range. Bodying and liveries have been handled by Scottish bodybuilder, Tekbo.
