Commercial Accountant

Reports to the Financial Controller, PACCAR Financial PLC

Overall Purpose

To provide value added support across a number of business areas.  Working closely with the Financial Controller to provide financial analysis of sales activity and operational performance.  There are strong ties with the DAF sister company and the Head Office in Eindhoven.

Key Accountabilities

  • Production, accountability and analysis of monthly dealer rebate calculations.
  • Support and provide business partnering to other heads of department.
  • Reporting and analysis of Used Truck sales, including forecasting.
  • Maintain monthly Used Truck stock reconciliations and improve processes.
  • Preparation of the monthly FLA (Finance and Leasing Association) statistical reporting.
  • Improve procedures where appropriate and ensure adequate controls are in place.
  • Identify areas for corrective action and make recommendations thereafter.
  • Provide sales analytical information by developing a deep understanding of the business results.
  • Production of ad hoc analysis and data requests from the Managing Director, Financial Controller and Asset Manager.
  • Assisting the Financial Accounting Manager and Controller with management and statutory reporting, year-end audits and internal audits and other ad hoc tasks as and when required.

 

Qualifications

  • Ideally:
  • Educated to degree standard
  • ACCAR/CIMA/ACA part qualified
  • Essential:
  • Excellent Excel Skills

 

Other

  • Confident self-starter with strong communication skills
  •  Good team player and confident dealing with senior management
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while meeting non-negotiable deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Outstanding Analytical skills
