All product innovations presented at the IAA 2026 are the result of DAF’s Transport Efficiency philosophy to further increase truck efficiency through lower operational costs and maximum vehicle availability.

DAF expands award-winning diesel product range

At the IAA Transportation 2026, DAF is further extending its multiple award winning XD, XF, XG and XG⁺ diesel offering to allow transport operators to perfectly tune their truck for highest efficiency.

For heavy-duty applications, particularly in construction, DAF is presenting an ex-factory 10x4 rigid configuration. To support a high payload (technical GVW of up to 54 tonnes) and excellent maneuverability, this new five-axle XD or XF features two steered front axles (8, 9 or new 10 tonnes) and a 34 tonnes rear tridem consisting of a driven tandem and a liftable, steered trailing axle.

DAF is also presenting dedicated solutions for car transportation with 4x2 and 6x2 chassis heights of just 83 centimeters. This is realized through lowering the wheel suspension by 4 centimeters and using 22.5 inch wheels with low-profile tires, maximizing usable space within the legally permitted vehicle height of 4 meters. The car transportation chassis are available as XD, XF, XG and XG⁺, whereby the XD vehicle also includes versions with a lower (18 cm) or slanted roof so that cars can be loaded above the cab.

DAF demonstrates environmental leadership

Alongside its advanced diesel range, DAF is demonstrating environmental leadership by displaying its full range of state-of-the-art Electric vehicles for city, regional and long haul applications. These innovative trucks feature highly efficient drivelines and modular battery packs for ‘zero emission’ ranges of over 550 kilometers on a single charge. All DAF Electric trucks use LFP batteries (Lithium Ferro Phosphate) which come with an eight-year warranty. The batteries are both cobalt- as well as nickel-free, have high thermal stability and can be charged daily up to 100% without compromising durability. 

XG and XG⁺ Electric introducing a new standard

The new XG and XG⁺ Electric share their DNA with the XD and XF Electric, which were voted ‘International Truck of the Year 2026’ because of their refined powertrains, advantageous LFP battery technology and superior driving comfort. The new DAF XG and XG⁺ Electric represent the ultimate in driver comfort. Their cabs are 33 centimeters longer than the already spacious XF and, combined with the extra height, this results in an unsurpassed working, living and sleeping environment with a total volume of up to 12.5 m3 and a standing height of up to 2.2 meters. 

Complete range of electric tractor and rigid vehicles

In addition, DAF Trucks is expanding its program of fully electric trucks to include a wide range of 6x2, 6x4 and 8x4 tractor and rigid models for specific applications and the construction industry.

The new electric 6x2 tractors with steered pusher or trailing axle are ideal for heavy-duty distribution applications in which additional payload, maximum yard friendliness and maneuverability are required. The 6x2 rigid with 10-tonnes double-mounted trailing axle is perfectly suited for tippers and applications with demountable container systems. For heavy duty use in the construction industry, DAF is introducing 6x4 and 8x4 electric models with driven tandem axles (19 and 21 tonnes) with single and hub reduction.

Specifically for the German BDF demountable body applications, DAF has developed a 4x2 and 6x2 rigid chassis with a dedicated battery configuration with up to 5 packs, which represents a unique offering on the market. This is also thanks to the outstanding accessibility of the twist locks and seamless compatibility with BDF swap bodies, while maintaining an optimal electric range.

Enhanced payload through new battery set-up

DAF is leading the way in available payload for electric trucks. Thanks to the extra registration weight of up to 2 tonnes - allowed for electric trucks by legislation - and the ideal weight distribution, the XD, XF, XG and XG⁺ Electric can offer as much as up to 500 kilogram more payload compared to the equivalent diesel versions.

At the IAA Transportation 2026, DAF is strengthening its technology leadership by introducing a battery set-up without a pack under the cab and with (up to) 4 packs smartly positioned more to the back of the vehicle. By lowering the front axle load by some 700 kilograms and thereby optimizing vehicle weight balance, a payload increase can be realized of up to no less than 2.5 tonnes.

DAF combines first-class electric vehicles with a complete service offering, making it the perfect partner for the energy transition. This includes dedicated consulting services, as well as advanced charging stations and battery storage systems from PACCAR Power Solutions.

DAF Transport Efficiency

As from autumn 2026, all DAF vehicles will have the DTE badge on their grille, illustrating that the DAF Transport Efficiency philosophy has driven their development from A to Z.

A clear example of the DAF Transport Efficiency philosophy is the pro-active way customers are supported to realize highest vehicle uptime. For this, a series of digital services are in place, based on the functionalities of PACCAR Connect. These DAF TruckIQ services include for instance Remote Software Updates, allowing the driver to perform updates through pushing a button on the dashboard instead of visiting the workshop. This ensures the truck is always running the latest software, while remaining fully operational.

DAF PreDiagnostics means that even before a truck drives into the workshop, the dealer already knows what needs to be done. Workshop technicians and parts are prepared in advance, which further adds to highest vehicle uptime. That is also the aim of DAF Smart Service Alerts, which detects eventually risks even before they may occur, another example of DAF’s leading pro-active customer support.

Additional vehicle innovations that enhance efficiency as well as safety, include DAF Drowsiness and Distraction Detection (warning when the driver’s eyes aren’t watching the road ahead for longer than 6 seconds), DAF On Board Fuel Monitoring System (monitoring real-world fuel use, and calculating instantaneous and lifetime totals) and DAF On Board Weight Monitoring System (providing vehicle or vehicle combination mass).

A next level in Driver Comfort

At the IAA 2026 Transportation, DAF is demonstrating its ongoing efforts to further optimize transport efficiency for highest return per kilometer. In addition, DAF continues to raise the bar when it comes to driver comfort, with the new DAF Single Driver Luxury Package.

Practical yet beautiful rear wall storage

New is a practical yet beautifully designed rear wall storage for XF, XG and XG⁺ models, especially developed for single driver operations. It offers three separate storage compartments with a total volume of up to 290 litres for the XG and XG⁺ models. The compartments are accessible through shutter doors on the sides and 2 sliding doors in the centre, all featuring premium chrome finish handles. Obviously, the storage compartments are illuminated. Underneath is a practical towel rack.

The full rear wall storage option is also available through PACCAR Parts for the after-market.

90 cm wide Relax Bed

For ultimate sleeping and resting comfort, the top-of-the-range XG and XG⁺ vehicles can now be ordered with a 90 cm wide Relax Bed. Thanks to the unsurpassed interior volume of the DAF XG and XG⁺ models, this mega-sized bed doesn’t compromise the comprehensive seat arrangements.

DAF is introducing a new standard in driver comfort by introducing a new 90 cm wide Relax Bed. Also new is a beautifully designed rear wall storage option.
