First Aid for Professional Drivers & Driver Wellbeing

Duration: 1 day
Number of delegates: 6-10

Learn vital skills necessary to deal with an emergency: aims of first aid, chain of survival, the law, head injuries, scene management, casualty assessment (triage), CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation), heart attack (AMI), management of the unconscious casualty, breathing problems, shock, wounds and bleeding, defibrillation (AED), spinal management, effects of heat and cold, epilepsy, diabetes and cardiac conditions.
On completion of this course, you will be issued with a First Aid For Professional Drivers certificate.

Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving Techniques

Classroom and driving

Develop an understanding of mechanical sensitivity and the need to reduce overall costs of fuel, tyre wear and on-going maintenance.

Vehicle Handover Specialist

Classroom with 3 static vehicles (LF/CF/XF)

Duration: 1 day
Number of delegates: 3-6

Understand the importance of a good vehicle handover
Use the ‘7-step walk-around’ to its full effect
Know the importance of procedures and documents for a successful vehicle handover
State the safety and comfort features and their benefits
Explain the practical driver features and their benefits

Features into Practice - XF *

Driving with the XF - classroom and driving

Duration: 1 day
Number of delegates: 1-3

Utilise truck features in a competent, safe and efficient manner. Also includes classroom based theory and explanation of safety, comfort and economy features.
All delegates must hold an appropriate licence and are required to bring their driving licence, driver’s card, DCPC card and licence check code along with them. Please note, if the licence check code is not provided, the candidate will not be able to take part in the training.

Features into Practice - LF or CF *

Driving with the either the LF or CF - classroom and driving

Duration: 1 day
Number of delegates: 1

Customers: £450 per delegate

*Please note, ‘Features into Practice - XF’ and ‘Features into Practice - LF or CF’ cover the same classroom content

Further Information

Course Fees
All course fees include lunch and refreshments, alongside training materials and handouts. Additional items will be charged where applicable, including overnight accomodation and the instructor’s travel and subsistence to dealer / customer premises. All fees are subject to VAT at the current rate.

Cancellation
DAF Trucks Limited reserves the right to charge for cancellations if the cancellation occurs at short notice.
Cancellation charges will apply as follows:

Within 1 month of the training date 25% of total cost
Within 2 weeks of the training date 50% of total cost
Within 1 week of the training date 75% of total cost
Within 48hrs of the training date 100% of total cost
